Wendy Davies established Isleham Horse and Pony Rescue Centre in the early 1990s.

Wendy started rescuing horses almost four decades ago and she realised her dream in the early 1990s when she established Isleham Horse and Pony Rescue Centre. Wendy provides a forever home for horses of all sizes as well as for many other furry and feathered creatures.

Wendy along with her daughter, Hayley, care for the 90 horses along with other furry and feathered friends at the rescue. This involves getting up at 5am every day to start the round of feedings and mucking out come rain, shine or pitch black winter mornings.

The rescue does not receive any outside funding and is solely reliant on donations and the income Wendy generates through working two jobs in addition to working at the Rescue. As you can imagine, caring for 90 horses and maintaining the stables and paddocks takes substantial funding, and the Rescue runs regular fundraising events in aid of this. Please click here to see the events we are organising,

Wendy and Hayley welcome volunteers to help them look after the animals as well as to fundraise and support the Rescue generally.

Please note: To enable us to dedicate our time to our animals, the Rescue is only occasionally open to the public; all visits must be pre-arranged.
